As with hot dogs, the toppings and condiments you put on your hamburger can easily make the difference between a ho-hum burger and a humdinger burger.

Following is an extensive list of everything we could think of to top off that perfect burger.

Of course, there are many purists who feel that a great burger needs very little in the way of added attractions to make it special. Sliced fresh tomatoes, sliced sweet onion, and a fresh, crisp lettuce leaf to many are the ultimate burger toppings. Agreed, but some of the following are fun, interesting and add distinctive flavors and character to an otherwise “ordinary” burger.
